Handle your team collaboration with Focalboard which provide more data ownership and more interoperability of your existing system.

Introduction

For those who are system integrators like us, I have a question: How do you handle your team collaboration ? Currently, we have a lot of tools existing. Most of them are SAAS. and i was wondering how you can find an alternative that can help you handle your own project and team collaboration with more data ownership and more interoperability of your existing system. I found an alternative for this: Focalboard; and that is what we are going to see in this article.

Focalboard solution

Tools like Asana, Notion, Jira, Trello can help to handle your team collaboration but with some disavantages like the following:

  • They can't work offline
  • You don't the ownership of your data
  • They have a costly subscription
  • It's difficult to share it with partner

With Focalboard, the main advantage we found here is first;

  • the interoperabilitybecause it's the HTML or Markdown format for the data you put in.
  • the second advantage, is that you can host it or self-hosted server and you can also share it easily with partners.

Before finish, they is one thing that I've noticed that's missing like some UI feature like The GANT view.
